The Boulder culinary school celebrated its latest batch of culinary and pastry graduates at its October 9th graduation ceremony at the Macky Auditorium on the University of Colorado Boulder’s campus. The day coincided with Boulder’s annual celebration of Auguste Escoffier Day as well as the first graduating class of the school’s online program. The day began with a welcome from campus president, Chef Kirk T Bachmann, followed by a video address by Michel Escoffier, president of the Auguste Escoffier Foundation and Museum and great grandson of Auguste Escoffier.

The ceremony’s commencement speaker this session was executive chef Ashlea Tobeck, a graduate of the school’s pastry arts program and longtime instructor.  In addition to a commencement speech given by farm-to-table partner Candace Orlando, the ceremony also featured three student speakers: culinary arts graduate, Cody Sauer; pastry arts graduate, Kodi Harpe; as well as Boulder Online graduate, John Scott Brooker. A total of 143 students graduated from the Boulder campus, making it one of the school’s largest graduating classes.
