Austin – known as the Live Music Capital of the World – is beginning to get recognition for more than just the sweet sounds on Sixth Street. As one of the up-and-coming cities of the United States, there are plenty of opportunities for learning about what’s cooking in Austin.

The Austin Food and Wine Festival – which is presented by highly regarded Food and Wine Magazine – is one such event that is sure to give plenty of creative culinary ideas to students at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin. Everything from tailgating favorites to Latin-inspired cocktails will be featured from April 26 to 28 at the festival.

This event is being put on by the same producer as Chicago’s Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits Music Festival, so you know that you will be in for a good time at this spring shindig. The event will feature more than 80 wine, spirit and artisan food counters. Since Austin is a full-fledged foodie city, you will be sure to see some of the biggest names in the local restaurant scene here, including several James Beard Foundation award winners and nominees.

Make sure to mark your calendars this month for this exciting festival that will be sure to give you plenty of inspiration for your recipes!
