 Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts Celebrates Expansion and Escoffier Day in Boulder

BOULDER, Colo (September 25, 2014) – The Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts located at 637 South Broadway in Boulder is excited to announce that Thursday, October 9, 2014 has been declared “Escoffier Day” by the Boulder City Council. The declaration is a celebration of the world-renowned school’s expansion plans and to honor the visit of special guest Michel Escoffier to the campus. Michel Escoffier, the great grandson of Master Chef Auguste Escoffier and president of the Escoffier Museum and Foundation in Villanueve – Loubet, France is also a distinguished member of the school’s advisory board.

 

During his visit, Mr. Escoffier will spend time with students, alumni and staff as well as oversee the induction of local culinary professionals Eric Skokan, Chef and Owner of Black Cat Bistro and Bramble & Hare; Jean Claude Cavalera, Chef Instructor at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts; Jesper Jonnson, Executive Chef of the Warwick Hotel in Denver; Joan Brewster, Executive Director of the Colorado Chef’s Association; and Kirk T. Bachmann, Campus President of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts into the prestigious Disciples d’Escoffier – a premier International culinary society. With more than 20,000 members worldwide, the organization honors the memory of Auguste Escoffier, promotes and preserves his work and promotes culinary education and apprenticeships encouraging young people to discover the desire and motivation to work as professional chefs.michel

It is an honor and privilege to have a day named after Escoffier, internationally recognized as perhaps the most famous chef in history and who is as influential and relevant today as he was a century ago,” said Kirk T. Bachmann, Campus President of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.

The school is hosting an Open House for interested culinary students on Saturday, October 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is welcome to tour the school and learn more about its culinary and pastry programs including its highly popular Farm To Table® Experience.
