Local writer Crystal Esquivel (of the “chocolate-covered blog” poco-cocoa.com) is finally launching her new book,Food Lovers’ Guide to Austin, and we’re excited! Join Crystal on June 28 at Austin’s favoritebookstore, BookPeople, starting at 7 pm for her take on everything from food trucks and farmers’ markets to the city’s delightfully varied ethnic and haute cuisines.

The book is a small but mighty compendium of everything Austin has to offer in terms of eating, drinking, cooking and buying foods. Whether you’re lived in Austin all your life or just got here as quick as you could, it’s a swell guide to the city. Eat your way through Austin, one neighborhood at a time, or jump around to sample sweets and savories from across town.

Crystal also mentions the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in the “Hyde Park” section of her book (though we’re still listed there under our previous name, the Culinary Academy of Austin), so be sure to pick up a copy to find out more about the hidden culinary gems sparkling right in our backyard!

BookPeople is located at 603 N. Lamar in Austin.
