Running from July 25 to the 31st, GO TEXAN’s Restaurant Round-Up is spotlighting Texas restaurants that use farm-fresh, local produce in their cuisine. Austin has a variety of participating restaurants to choose from, from less expensive favorites like Opal Divines and Tacos and Tequila (TNT) to more upscale Tex-Mex restaurants like Garrido’s and Manuel’s.
In addition to focusing on fresh, local food, there’s another benefit to eating out this week: a portion of your payment for these fabulous meals will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank. It’s a win-win proposition: you get to enjoy a tasty, locally-sourced meal and hungry Texans also reap the benefits.
The Round-Up is on in cities across Texas, but here in Austin you can join in the fun at all of the following restaurants:
· Chez Zee American Bistro
· Garrido’s Restaurant
· Judge’s Hill Restaurant
· Manuel’s
· Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill
· Opal Divines
· Red’s Porch
· Sagra
· TNT/Tacos and Tequila
· Quality Seafood
Quality Seafood is just down the street from Escoffier’s Austin campus, at 5621 Airport Boulevard. If you love fresh fish, this is a great place to enjoy some of the best in town. In addition to selling wholesale to many of Austin’s upscale seafood restaurants, the store is open to the public and serves up seafood dishes of all varieties in their in-store café.
Enjoy a taste of Austin and GO LOCAL this week!
