With such amazing restaurants and talented chefs in Boulder, there’s almost no reason to leave our little city. But I have a wonderful culinary excuse for you to hop in your car and drive 8 miles North. Follow my directions and you won’t be sorry. Just off the Diagonal Highway, at 7980 Niwot Road, sits my most favorite gem in Boulder County. Niwot Market is one of the most eclectic and pleasing grocery stores you will find around.

You can find everything you need at Niwot Market, plus gorgeous flowers, local organic produce and meats, high quality prepared foods and freshly roasted coffee. Sasha Sushi also has a spot towards the back of the store, where you can feast on the freshest sushi around. Stop by on a Sunday for Chef Sukasa’s famous traditional ramen!! People drive from all over the Denver Metro area for it, seriously.

If you walk towards their deli, you will find that Niwot Market’s pastry case is loaded with decadent pastries made by yours truly. So go gaze at Slice of Feist’s high-end cakes and sweet treats!!

My favorite part of the Niwot Market is the unique community that they have created. Every Friday during the summer, from 6-8 pm, they serve the most delicious dinner around. Grab a seat out on their patio, listen to some live music and eat as much fine food as you can fit into your hungry belly. The first time I attended one of their summer suppers, I almost howled “how didn’t I know about this?! This is divine!” Make Niwot Market’s Friday dinner part of your summer ritual and get to know a sweet little town.
