Exploring Austin's new food destinationSoon Austin will be home to a three-building structure that will house nine different eating and drinking establishments. The buildings are part of a new mixed-use development called Lamar Union, according to Eater Austin. Here is some insight into the new venues that will open up shop at this Austin food destination:

CANTINE
This eatery will be run by Emmett and Lisa Fox. According to the source, the couple describes the concept as a mix between their ASTI and FINO establishments, which means the restaurant will blend Mediterranean and Italian cuisines. CANTINE is slated to open in the fall of 2014.

Caffe Medici
Another shop to open in toward the end of the year is Caffe Medici. It’s owned by Michael Vaclav and it will feature Cuvee coffee and espresso.

Daily Juice
On the health front, this Union project will also include Daily Juice. Owner John Martin told Eater that the design of the juice shop will be similar to his other locations in the downtown and Westlake area. There will be fresh juice, smoothies and food items.

If you attend an Austin culinary school or you are a foodie, check out this new food destination.
