The Bacon and Beer festival is coming to AustinWhat’s better than an evening full of bacon and beer? The people behind the Bacon and Beer Festival would probably say “nothing.” This food event has previously sold out in San Francisco, Denver, Boston and Philadelphia, and now it’s making its way to Austin. If you attend a culinary school in the area you may want to check it out because top-notch chefs will be putting their creative spin on “bacon-centric food,” according to Edible Austin. The event will take place on Feb. 22 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at The Marchesa.

There are a range of participating eateries from the Austin area, including Frank, Noble Pig, TRACE, Zed’s and Snack Bar. Additionally, Bacon, Amy’s Ice Cream, Hoover and the Pink Avocado will be dishing out some tasty cuisine. One of the premier events is a nose-to-tail butchering of a hog hosted by Salt and Time restaurant.

As for the beer, Circle Brewing Co., Real Ale Brewing Company and Shiner Brewery, among others, will be providing their craft batches to the crowd.

Tickets are being sold online and cost $40 per adult. The event is hosted by Eat Boston in partnership with Edible Boston. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will go toward Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.
