Here is an overview of some of Austin's most interesting food festivals.Regardless of whether you’ve been a lifelong resident of the Lone Star State or have just moved to the area, you’re probably aware of the fact that the Austin culinary arts scene is truly second to none. While many people tend to associate the area’s excellent food with its incredibly vast number of restaurants, Austin’s culinary repertoire goes far deeper. One of the most interesting offerings that the city brings to the table is its plethora of annual food and drink festivals and other events. There is seemingly a major event designed to showcase the region’s culinary talent for every month of the year. If you’re considering planning a trip to Austin, here are three food festivals worth checking out:

Austin Food & Wine Festival
One of the city’s premier events, the Austin Food & Wine Festival is an experience that you truly won’t want to miss. Occurring each year in late spring, the event is a celebration of some of the most established chefs and sommeliers in the area, and also showcases Austin’s up-and-coming culinary talent. According to the festival’s website, the 2015 event will take place during the weekend of April 24th to 26th, and tickets are still available. Make sure to get out and experience the festival at least one day of its run, as more than 50 local culinary talents will be putting their delicious crafts on display.

The Austin Chocolate Festival
As the weather begins to cool off in Austin, the time is ideal to celebrate the coming holiday season with a sweet treat. That’s where the Austin Chocolate Festival comes into play, an annual gathering dedicated to showcasing some of the finest chocolate made in the area and the great chefs who make it happen. The gathering actually took a break after its sixth year in 2013, but will be back in full force during 2015 to provide Austin residents with some delicious food and wonderful memories. Tickets aren’t yet on sale, but keep an eye on the event website to ensure that you don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

Texas Tea Festival
Held for the first time ever in 2015, the Texas Tea Festival is going to feature an vast array of teas from Texas and the surrounding area. According to its website, this gathering will feature not only tastings and tea for sale, but also talks on best practices when it comes to making your own tea. This festival will surely be a popular event for the family as it’s well suited to children and adults of all ages.Tickets are still available and are only $12 per person, so make sure to mark your calendars for this one!
