New Food Network Show Will Highlight Austin's Food Truck Culture

New Food Network show will highlight Austin's food truck cultureRecent grads of Austin culinary arts school have a chance to be cast in an upcoming Food Network show highlighting Austin’s thriving food truck culture. Culture Map Austin is reporting that the Food Network is currently casting a new show in Austin titled “Food Truck Face Off.” The show is looking for eight two-person teams to go battle it out for a chance at the top prize. Interested candidates should have an interesting personality and a great idea for a food truck, but can’t have actually owned one before. The winners of the show will get a one-year lease on a fully customized food truck of their own.

Austin is well known for being home to a vibrant food truck culture. The city’s official website lists Austin food trucks as one of its crowning attractions. Beginning in the 1990s, Austin’s food truck scene has rapidly expanded to include somewhere around 2,000 vendors. This large community has made Austin a destination for Food Network producers looking to highlight the national trend. This is a great opportunity for students of Austin culinary arts courses looking to enter into the food truck industry.
