September is National Honey Month! What a wonderful excuse to dine on honey every day. Drizzle it over your fruit salad, use it in a marinade for your chicken, stir it into your herbal tea or spread it onto a piece of toast. Not only is honey a wonderful antibiotic (load up during the cold season!), but studies have shown that consuming local honey can help alleviate allergies. Stop by your local farmer’s market and get the buzz on your local honey.

Here is a slightly sweet recipe to marinate your meat of choice. Grill up a drumstick that’s been soaking in this stuff overnight….now that’s good!

Honey Marinade For Chicken Or Pork- recipe from Kitchen Confidante

2 Teaspoons Ground Ginger
2 Teaspoons Dried Mustard
2 Teaspoons Salt
¼ Teaspoon Ground Pepper
2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
¼ Cup Honey
½ Cup Olive Oil
½ Cup Lemon Juice
3 Cloves Garlic Crushed

Mix everything up. Marinate your chicken or pork overnight in the fridge. Cook however you please and devour!
