“I love when I see the spark of understanding happen for a student. They are working so hard, and then they just GET IT. I love showing someone how to do what I love doing!”
Chef Dana is an Owner of a small batch pop-up bakery and is a pastry and education powerhouse, combining over a decade of baking and pastry skill with a Master’s Degree in Education focusing on Career and Technical Education. With a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration, a Baking and Pastry Arts Certificate, and her master’s degree, she is a rare combination of front of house, back of house, and teaching prowess.
Her bakery Snowbird Pastries specializes in sourdough baked goods and Greek pastries. Her goodies are made with local ingredients from around Charleston, South Carolina, and can be found at area cafes and farmer’s markets.
Chef Dana’s work has taken her from boutique bakeries to wedding venues to community colleges and technical schools. In addition to baking and teaching, Chef Dana has volunteered with The Green Heart Project, a nonprofit that teaches kids about growing fresh produce, harvesting their crops, and cooking.
While she loves to bake, she also loves to share what she knows with her students at Escoffier.
