"No one who cooks, cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers."

Chef Jackie Abril-Carlile

About

Chef Jackie is Executive Chef and Manager at North Mountain Brewing in Phoenix, Arizona, an owner of CODA Catering, and is a Silver Medalist New York State ACF Culinary Competition in 2009.

Jackie was born and raised in upstate New York and spent most of her childhood sitting on the counter at her grandparents’ house watching her grandma make spaghetti sauce and big Sunday dinners.

Following her dream to culinary school, Jackie was accepted to Paul Smith’s College near Lake Placid, New York, where she spent four years honing her culinary skills. From there she went on to receive her master’s degree in education from NTID, and then a second Master’s in Business Administration from Argosy University.

Chef Jackie has spent time in almost every aspect of foodservice, from quick-serve to institutional to fine dining. She’s also spent the last 10 years as a culinary educator at both the high school and college levels.
