"I'm proud to be a part of a student's journey at Escoffier; to support their passion as they mix in practice and patience, seasoned with questions and inspiration, and see the sweet results."
Ever since her first cake from an Easy-Bake oven, Chef Jennifer McClintick has loved baking. She completed the pastry certificate program at Baltimore International Culinary College, highlighted by a 6-week course in Ireland. Inspired to travel, she went on to work as a pastry chef in fine dining restaurants in Miami, Manhattan, and Los Angeles. Notably, she worked for Jacques Torres at Le Cirque 2000 when Ruth Reichl was awarded 4 stars. She has also been to France to study chocolate at Valrhona’s Grand Ecole du Chocolat.
Chef Jennifer began as a pastry chef instructor in 2000 at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, CA and then in Austin,TX, discovering a passion for sharing her knowledge and helping students realize their dreams. She is thrilled to be able to guide and support the Escoffier online students’ journeys as a Chef Instructor.
Out of many memorable occasions, a special honor was the time she made a cake for Julia Child on her 88th birthday. She has also been active in competitions and has won gold medals and best in show awards from ACF salons, as well as first, second and third place wins from the 2011 That Takes the Cake show in Austin, TX.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, relaxing with family and her mini dachshunds (Buddy and Scooter) and of course, baking.
