Chef Lyndsay Orton Pérez
Instructor, General Education, Hospitality & Restaurant Operations Management
"Simplicity is the key to being a great Chef."
About
Chef Lyndsay has channeled her interest in sustainable agriculture and affordable, healthy food into Zentorre Farms, her micro-urban aeroponic farm.
After earning her culinary arts degree, Chef Lyndsay was named the Junior Chef of the Year by the Texas Chefs Association in 2007. She cooked for The Food Network Festival multiple years in a row and has met Bobby Flay and Ann Burrell. She later relocated to New York City, where she worked for Michelin-recommended restaurant PRINT. During this time, she also added a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management to her impressive resume, followed later by an MBA in Sustainable Food Systems.
Once she had earned her MBA, Chef Lyndsey turned her attention to her passion of addressing food deserts and helping to make healthy food more accessible. She relocated to Austin, Texas, to work as a Food Justice Advocate at Green Gate Farms, as well as teaching at Le Cordon Bleu.
Chef Lyndsay is an ACF Certified Chef® who is eager to share her passion for farm-to-table and ingredient-driven cooking with the students at Escoffier!
