Chef J.D. has served as an Executive Chef and works part-time with a catering company on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He worked under a semi-finalist for Best Chef Southwest chef and owner Michael Sohocki at Gwendolyn in San Antonio, Texas.
J.D. enjoys traveling and experiencing different cuisines, having spent a lot of time in Mexico with his wife and living there. He grew up in a rural farming community and has always enjoyed the process of how food gets to the table. Having worked on farms and cattle ranches, J.D. is passionate about sustainability and farm-to-table practices.
Chef J.D. is planning to complete his Certified Culinary Educator® (CCE®) credential through the American Culinary Federation (ACF). He also volunteers each year with his local high school culinary programs helping with various events.
