Award-winning Chef Jose Matos has over ten years of experience in Florida’s hotel and resort scene where he  managed staff, cut costs, and cooked for events of as many as 1,800 guests!

After an earlier career in government and finance in Chicago, Chef Jose relocated to sunny Florida for a fresh start and a job at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. Within a few years, he decided to make the leap into the culinary world, starting with a culinary education at Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando. This kicked off a decade-long career of working in the F&B departments of hotels and resorts in central Florida.

During his time at Cypress Cove Resort, he and his team won the People’s Choice Award at the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association’s 2018 Ultimate Chef Competition! Chef Jose also uses his culinary skills go give back, spending two years cooking for a non-profit organization that provided meals to unhoused people.
