Upcoming Foodie Events In and Around Boulder

Summer in Boulder holds a range of activities for the local foodie. There’s no shortage of food-related activities surrounding Boulder as summer begins to heat up. June’s calendar alone makes it easy to see why Boulder was voted America’s Foodiest Town in 2010.

A Taste of Art
From June 12 through 15, The Dairy Center for the Arts will host Boulder’s inaugural food festival, simply entitled: A Taste of Art. The festival will be the first of it’s kind, and 5280 reported that it will feature everything from demonstrations and conversations to contests and classes. Of particular interest to those invested in the local food scene will be a discussion on sourcing local ingredients led by co-founder of Edible Communities, Inc, Tracy Ryder. The festival will also feature food advice from photographer Carole Topalian, and will close with Barbecue, Blues and Brews, featuring great food, beer and music.

Backyard Brewmaster Dinner
Post Brewing Company will be hosting a ‘Backyard Brewmaster Dinner‘ in Lafayette on the evening of June 11. The dinner will feature a four-course meal prepared by executive chef Brett Smith, and will also showcase a number of seasonal beers from Post. Tickets to the dinner are $75 at the door, but only cost $60 when bought in advance, and are inclusive of dinner, wine, beer and gratuity. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Growe Foundation’s Garden to Table program in the Boulder Valley School District.

Meet the Maker
La Biblioteca, a Richard Sandoval restaurant, holds a Meet the Makers event on the first Thursday of every month. These events showcase different practices used by various tequila makers, featuring tastings of the specialty tequila. June’s event will feature Suerte, and July’s will be hosted by the Agave Underground. The events run from 6 to 8 p.m. and are for patrons ages 21 plus. Tequila enthusiasts are encouraged to come by for an evening of drink, food and good company.
