A new, three-restaurant space is coming to East AustinMP Commercial Partners, an Austin-based development firm, is nearing the end of construction on a building located on the city’s east side which will house three restaurants. The building, located at 1914 E. 6th Street, will be the second of two in the area renovated by MP Commercial Partners, and has already leased out the entirety of its available space.

Among the restaurants  in the building will be Cuvee Coffee’s first retail location and another franchise for Counter Cafe. Perhaps most notably, the third unit will be occupied by a new concept from the owners of Contigo, which will be called Gardener. Contigo, modeled after Contigo Ranch in South Texas, features a relaxed atmosphere and has experienced considerable success since opening.

The smaller, three-unit building which will feature the restaurants sits near another building renovated by MP Commercial Partners. The latter, a larger space that used to serve as a warehouse, now holds more than six companies in different creative markets.

“There’s a very real sense of place here,” Donny Shanks first told the Austin Business Journal.

Shanks, who serves as the vice president of UrbanSpace Commercial and was involved in the renovations, hopes this building can capitalize on its location in the same manner its counterpart has.

Steve Oliver, a principal at Opa Design Studio, seems confident that the uniqueness of the space and place provide a certain value.

“Austin doesn’t have a lot of these kinds of buildings,” he told the source.
