BOULDER, Colorado and AUSTIN, Texas, February 22, 2018 – The Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts is pleased to announce the 2018 Curtis Duffy Scholarship Competition is now accepting applications.

In the name of the James Beard Award-winning chef and culinary school partner, eight scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 will be awarded to 2018 high school graduates enrolled in an on-site program and scheduled to begin their Escoffier education in the fall at either the Boulder, CO or Austin, TX campus locations.

The Curtis Duffy Scholarship Competition was established to offer educational opportunities to those interested in pursuing training with the prominent culinary school group.

This is the second year the culinary school has offered the scholarship.

“I’m honored to represent Escoffier and be associated with this initiative to help high school students realize their dreams of entering this exciting industry. There are so many options for today’s graduates from working in large-scale food service operations to small business ownership. Formal training and education helps students create a faster path for career growth and advancement.” said Curtis Duffy.

In order to qualify, applicants must answer a number of questions and assemble a video detailing information including the reason they should be chosen and what inspired them to attend culinary school. Winners will be hand selected by a panel of judges including Duffy based on a number of factors including creativity and attention to detail. The scholarships are only applicable toward an education with the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.

When asked how the Curtis Duffy Scholarship affected her education, scholarship winner Allison Janke replied, “The Curtis Duffy Scholarship helped me to realize that my dream of being a chef could become a reality. Winning was just the push I needed to know I was doing the right thing and the scholarship award money was a huge help with tuition.”
