Celebrate Halloween with some local cuisine.

Every holiday can – and should – be celebrated with food and drink. If you want to venture outside of Boulder this Halloween, there are plenty of events happening outside of city limits. Whether you’re enrolled in Boulder culinary school or you just really appreciate fine food and drink, these events are awesome for an alternative Halloween celebration.

Dia de los Muertos Beer Dinner

Kachina Southwestern Grill is teaming up with Grimm Brothers Brewhouse for a four-course dinner complete with beer pairings. The beers on tap will include 3 Golden Hairs Pilsner Michelada, Snow Drop Kottbusser Ale, Little Red Cap Alt Style Ale and Master Thief German Porter Cocktail. There will also be a Dia de los Muertos folk art altar by local artist Darin Sturgill. Remember your loved ones who have passed, and enjoy this meal with the ones who are still here.

Gather in the historic Riverside Cemetery and hear all of the spooky true tales of Denver’s history while enjoying craft beers and autumnal hors d’oeuvres like empanadas and pumpkin ravioli. Tivoli Brewery/Distributing Co. will be providing Tivoli Helles Lager, Sigi’s Wildhorse Buck beer, Aspen Brewing Co. IPA, Crabtree Brewing Co. Chunkin Punkin and Big B’s Organic Cider. After the tasting, there will be a cemetery walking tour. All proceeds benefit the education and preservation programs of the Fairmount Heritage Foundation.

Thirteen Colorado craft breweries will team up for this sampling extravaganza. This family-friendly event will be complete with a costume contest, trick-or-treating, games, face painting, live music, local food trucks and more. You can get in for as little as $5 with accompanied minors getting in free, and all of the event’s proceeds will go to The Arc of Adams County.

Simms Steakhouse is offering a five-course dinner with paired craft spirits for Halloween. This Halloween-themed dinner with a grilled Colorado rack of lamb as the entree includes live music and a cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres. Costumes are encouraged, just make sure they’re stretchy! Guarantee yourself a spot and make a reservation.
