Whether you're a parent trying to gather your family for a meal time, a student enrolled in a Colorado culinary school looking to grab a bite between courses or just the average professional, you probably don't have a ton of spare time on your hands. The sad fact of the matter is that the busier our schedules get, the less time we have to truly sit down and enjoy a meal. While you may not be able to sit down and converse with the family every time you head to the kitchen, it's important to try and take some time to truly appreciate the experience of dining. Dinner theater is one of the best ways to do this. Pairing food with entertainment is a combination older than time itself, and one that is still far more accessible than people think. Take look at these notable dinner theaters in Colorado and see if you can't find the time to visit one or two with your loved ones.

The Dinner Detective
According to its website, The Dinner Detective is the largest interactive dinner murder mystery show. Luckily for residents of The Centennial State, it's based in Denver. Whether you live in the Mile High City or are simply passing through on a visit, The Dinner Detective makes a great option for couples, families or tourists. The experience features a four course plated meal fit for a king and, best of all, an interactive audience experience. As one side note, this murder mystery theater may be somewhat frightening for young children, so you'll want to take that into account when you plan your evening and purchase your tickets.

Jesters Dinner Theater
Located in Longmont, Colorado, Jesters Dinner Theater is another great option for those looking to enjoy some quality entertainment with their meal. The restaurant serves rotating dishes served with soup, bread and salad pairings. In the tradition of more classic dinner theater, the meal service ends 10 minutes before the curtain first goes up, so that patrons are not distracted from the show by their food. Perhaps the single best aspect of a night out at Jesters is that it doesn't require you to break the bank. It costs less than $40 for dinner and a show, a deal that you aren't likely to find anywhere else.

Adams Mystery Playhouse
Adams Mystery Playhouse is located in Denver and has been voted the number one mystery dinner theater in the area for at least three years in a row. Unlike other mystery theaters, Adams Mystery Playhouse is specifically designed to cater to a broad range of age demographics. Depending on the show that you select, Adams can be the perfect destination for everyone from young children to fully grown adults. The theater also offers rental for corporate or private events, so that you can get the place to yourself if you have a large enough group.
