  • How long is the Culinary Arts program?

    The Associate of Applied Science Degree Program in Culinary Arts at the Austin, TX campus is 60 weeks, and includes 6 weeks of Farm to Table® Experience and 12 weeks of industry externship.  The Diploma Program in Culinary Arts is 30 weeks and includes 6 weeks of  industry externship.

    The Associate of Occupational Studies Degree Program in Culinary Arts at the Boulder, CO campus is 60 weeks and includes 6 weeks of Farm to Table® Experience and 12 weeks of industry externship. The current Diploma Program in Culinary arts is 30 weeks, with 24 weeks of on-campus culinary practical coursework and 6 weeks dedicated to an industry externship.  

    The online diploma program in Culinary Arts and Operations offered by the Boulder campus is 60 weeks. The program includes a mix of practical courses and culinary lecture courses culminating with a 6-week industry externship.  

  • Who is your typical student?

    We enroll students from all backgrounds and from all parts of the country and the world. Ages range from 18-55 and beyond, but most of our students in their early 20’s. A typical student is passionate about food and cooking, mature and focused. Roughly, students fall into three categories: individuals already pursuing a career in the hospitality industry who seek to hone their skills, career changers and students beginning their first career.   • How do I arrange a visit of a Culinary Arts class and tour your school?

    We highly recommend a personal visit of our campuses in Austin, Texas or Boulder, Colorado for an in-class observation and a tour of the school. Come meet our Chef Educators, see our professional kitchens, meet our friendly staff, and chat with our current students. Personal visits (either in person or via the Internet) are available Monday – Sunday by appointment only. Schedule your tour.

  • What do I get when I graduate?

    Graduates from any of the accredited vocational programs receive a diploma or degree, depending on program selected, for completing all requirements. We intentionally focus on short, fast-paced programs dedicated to food, cooking, and palate development.  The training you receive in your program will prepare you for a future culinary career and provide skill development to foster growth and success within the field.

  • Where are your graduates working?

    Our alumni pursue a variety of career paths. Many are cooking in fine-dining restaurants in various positions. Others work in catering, country clubs or hotels around the country. Some students are pursuing careers as food journalists or personal chefs, while others have started their own businesses.   • Can you help me find a job while I’m a student and after I graduate?

    Yes.  Our friendly Career Services staff work closely with students to provide assistance in searching for jobs while they are in school and after they graduate.  Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts does provide lifetime job placement assistance, but does not guarantee employment nor control the hiring decisions of employers.

  • Do you provide housing?

    Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts does not have on-campus housing or dormitories; however, our campuses are centrally located and are close to many apartment and housing options. We also partner with house-finding services that offer a variety of resources to help you find housing.

  • Are financing programs available?

    Yes. Many of our Culinary Arts students (upon qualifying) choose to finance their culinary education through financial aid programs and other resources. We also offer flexible payment plans. View your financing options.

  • Are scholarships available?

    Yes. Many scholarships are available to Culinary Arts students attending the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. View scholarship opportunities.

  • Is your school accredited? Why is that important?

    Yes.  Accreditation means that an outside agency has reviewed all aspects of the school and that the school meets their standards.  When choosing the school that is right for you, it is important to consider programs that have been accredited.  

    Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas is nationally accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE), approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission – Career Schools and Colleges, and authorized as an Associate of Applied Science degree–granting institution through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.  In addition, the Culinary Arts Program is programmatically accredited by the American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation.  

    Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, Colorado is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), approved and regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Division of Private Occupational Schools, and has been approved by Colorado to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).
